Are Trader Joe’s macarons gluten-free?
Trader Joe’s sells a variety of products including macarons. According to the Trader Joe’s website, their macaroon shells are made using egg whites only. However, the amounts of ingredients listed indicate that there is glucose syrup in the recipe notes.

While this specific product may not necessarily be what they sell all the time, I was unable to find any evidence that their macarons were indeed gluten-free.
Therefore, I recommend avoiding this product if you are following a strict gluten-free diet. You should also avoid buying anything else from Trader Joe’s until you confirm whether or not their macarons are safe for consumption.
Can Macarons Be Made Without Aquafaba?

With that being said, I’m not sure if you can actually make macarons without any sugar. I’ve never tried it myself, but I think it would probably work.
However, I did find a recipe where the author replaces the icing sugar with powdered Xylitol. So, maybe you can try making macarons without sugar!

For example, you can add chocolate chips, nuts, coconut flakes, etc., to make your macarons extra special. Or, you can experiment with different types of frostings. There are tons of recipes online, so you won’t run out of ideas.
You can also buy vegan macarons online, but they tend to cost a lot more than regular ones. So, unless you’re willing to spend a fortune, you might as well skip them altogether.
If you’d rather avoid buying them, you can always bake your own instead. After all, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy the sweet treats that everyone else does!”
