While Nature Valley bars may seem healthy, they still have plenty of unhealthy ingredients. You should avoid them if you’re trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy diet. Instead, try eating a balanced meal instead of snacking between meals.

You’ll receive detailed nutritional information, including calories per serving, total grams of carbohydrates, total grams of sugars, total grams of fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium, fiber, protein, vitamin D, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium, copper, saturated fatty acids, biotin, folic acid, and lignans.


Complex carbohydrates are considered healthier than simple carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates are made up of long chains of glucose molecules, which causes them to release energy slowly. Simple carbohydrates, on the other hand, break down quickly into glucose, causing a rapid rise in blood sugar levels.

This means that eating foods containing complex carbohydrates helps keep blood sugar levels steady, which makes you feel fuller longer. Foods rich in complex carbohydrates include whole grain cereals, brown rice, oats, beans, lentils, quinoa, nuts, seeds, and vegetables.

However, the Nature Valleys Crunchies range contains an average of 28 grams of carbs per bar, including 11 grams of sugar. This is quite a bit compared to most other snack bars, especially those targeted toward kids. Therefore, it may not be suitable for everyone.

Nature Valley’s Dark Chocolate, Peanut, and Almond Sweet & Salted Nut Bar have only 139 calories in a 30-gram serving. That means that you can eat two servings without worrying about gaining weight.

You might not think that eating a bar with less than 150 calories is very healthy, but it really isn’t. You’ll find that most snacks with fewer than 100 calories are loaded with a bunch of sugar and unhealthy fats. Instead, opt for foods that are high in fiber, protein, and vitamins. These include nuts, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats.

Choose a bar with at least 140 calories if you want to lose weight. Otherwise, choose a bar with no more than 160 calories per serving.

On balance, Nature Valley bars are a mixture of healthy whole foods with added sugars and oils. They’re not purely good or purely bad.

If you’re looking for a healthy store-bought bar, I think Larabs are likely the best. These bars still have high total sugars, but most of the sugars come from fruits.

If you want to use Nature Valley bars to shed pounds, you may need to either eat fewer portions or count calories.

Remember: Calorie balancing is the most important thing to do when trying to lose fat. If you want to make losing fat easier, look for foods with a low-calorie density.

Low-calorie-density foodstuffs are typically high in fiber, which fills you up and helps you feel fuller on fewer calories. Unfortunately, most Nature Valley bars don’t have much fiber or water, making them high in energy density.

Each two-pack of Crunchy Bars contains around 200 calories. It’s not uncommon for granola bars to be higher than whole plant foods. For the same calorie count, you could easily have two medium-sized bananas.

You can definitely still lose weight while eating nature valley bars. There is nothing inherently fattening about them; they won’t automatically make you fat. However, they are not helping you lose weight.

But if you’re eating the “Protein” bars, you’re probably not getting very much protein either. These bars have 10 grams of whey protein per bar, and most of them also have milk products.

However, there are two levels of protein bars offered by Nature Valley. The “Chewy” bars have 10 grams of total protein per bar, including 5 grams of whey protein.

The “Crunch” bars have 12 grams of total protein per serving, including 6 grams of whey protein and 6 grams of casein protein. The “XL Protein” bars have 15 grams of total protein per serving, including 7 grams of whey protein, and 8 grams of casein protein.”

I’m not sure if the protein content is enough to make a difference in your workout performance or recovery, but it’s certainly something to consider when choosing a protein bar.

Personally, I’ve always preferred the Fruit & Nut bars, but I don’t eat them very often. I prefer the Peanut Butter flavor instead. However, I’m not a big fan of the Crunchy Granolas, so I usually skip them.

If you’re a vegan, you might enjoy trying out some of Nature Valley’s snacks. They’re tasty and nutritious, and they won’t disappoint!
